Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Dr. Hamsa Altayeb is a pioneering clinical scientist and the visionary founder of Microbe Whisper. With a PhD in Molecular Virology and Infectious Diseases from the University of Surrey (UK), she leads transformative efforts in microbial science and precision diagnostics. As Head of the Metagenomics Section at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Dr. Altayeb has been instrumental in establishing metagenomic sequencing as a frontline tool for infectious disease research in the region. At Microbe Whisper, she combines scientific leadership with strategic foresight to drive innovation across human, animal, environmental, and space microbiome applications – aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and global biotech trends.
Dr. Suzan Alzeer, PharmD, PhD.
Co-founder & Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Dr. Suzan Alzeer is a clinical scientist and Co-founder of Microbe Whisper. She holds a PhD in Infectious Disease Diagnostics from Cardiff University (UK), where she developed rapid molecular tools for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis. With a solid background in clinical pharmacy and molecular microbiology, she currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre. At Microbe Whisper, Dr. Alzeer oversees core scientific operations from DNA extraction to sequencing and microbial data interpretation – ensuring accurate, high-quality results that drive microbiome innovation forward.

Aljohrah Tayeb holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from HTMi, Switzerland, with a focus on leadership and strategic development.
